The Outsider's Quote

“You greasers have a different set of values, you’re more emotional…cool to the point of not feeling anything….”
“That’s way we’re separated…It’s not money its feeling—you don’t feel anything and we feel too violently.” (Hinton P.38)
When I first read this quote from the Outsiders I thought how such an odd thing such as emotions create the difference of Socs and greasers. It reminded me of a character in a manga I read. It was slightly different though, that character felt emotions but couldn’t express them like a normal person. I think it is impossible for someone not to feel emotions—everyone has to, whether they feel very little or a lot. And whether they express it or not is something else. I feel emotions very much, possibly too much. But sometimes I just don’t express it. Emotions guide our actions. Without emotions, everyone would do the same, and be the same inside.
Thanks for reading my blog!
