Zombie Girl (The Movie), was directed by a 12 year old girl named Emily. The movie has lots of zombies in it and took 2 years to make.
I really liked Emily’s commitment of making the movie Zombie Girl. Even through tough times, she pushed forward. Such as when her mom was stressed out, or having the actors forget things (such as the shirt they we were wearing the other day when filming). She had goals for when she would finish editing the movie, not able to succeed them, and moved the dates forward. And still, she didn’t give up, even if it meant lots of editing on top of her school homework. I’m impressed that she took initiative (she wasn’t forced to make a movie) and followed her dream at a very young age. She also kept in mind how much time the actors had, because she was considerate and scheduled part of the filming for a later date due to this.
I didn’t like how Emily had to deeply depend on her mom for make up. I thought that it would be a bit to harsh on her mom as her mom probably had other things to do besides putting make-up on the zombies. I was surprised that the actors weren’t as committed to the movie as Emily was (forgetting things), and how some zombie actors were very immature (putting fake blood in the bathroom).
Watching Emily direct the movie and following her dreams really was amazing. She’s a good role model for everyone because she's proof that if you work hard, you can achieve great things, that you can be proud of. I have a plot for a story that I made up, but I didn’t want to write it. I wanted to draw it, like manga (a Japanese cartoon). But I kept thinking that it was impossible, because I couldn’t draw manga. But ever since I’ve watched this documentary, I have been practicing drawing manga everyday so that I can soon be able to draw my own manga.
