Unit Question: How does our city provide us with what we need?
(Answer to the question above in French) Dans ma ville il y a un marché, un école, des appartements, des piscenes, et un zoo. Dans la marché il y a du fromage, des légume et des fruits. Dans la école il y a des professeurs, des étudiants et des amis. Dans la zoo il y a des poissons, des oiseaux, des crocidiles et des tortues.
AOI: Environment
I think this AOI has been chosen because we need to know the area around us, especially if we are in France.
In this unit, I found remembering the grammar for the verb ‘aller’ and ‘être’ difficult. I also kept mixing those two verbs mixed up. In order to overcome this challenge, I listened to the chorus of Le Verbe Aller song, that we listened to in class until I knew it by heart. I also practiced making proper sentences with the verb ‘être’.
I enjoyed all the little roll plays we did to practice using new vocabulary. I found it very effective, and it helped me improve my oral communication.
But, I didn’t like how we learned the new vocabulary. We looked at pictures and try to guess what it is in French. And we go though it moderately fast. I would have like it more if it were slowed down. For example, if we were learning names of shops, it would be a good idea to add a few examples of what is in the shops.
Here is a snapshot of my poster I made for my summative assessment. I drew an imaginary town and put descriptions for what is in the town.
Thanks for reading on my blog!
